Gift: Yongnuo Speedlight YN467

Yesterday, Maffie invited me to go to the Gateway Mall to have a birthday date. She feels a little bit sicky but insisted that we had our date there. She told me that she wants to go to the places where we had our dates. I told her that we did not go to a lot of places in Gateway and that we should go at Shangrila Plaza Mall instead. But knowing her, she still persisted to go to Gateway.

Unaware of the things going on, she planned a surprise for me and bought me a special gift. Meet maddie (she named it after its seller Madmax), my first external flash.

It is a YongNuo Speedlight YN467. I was suppose to buy the Speedlight YN468 but was adviced that it still has a lot of issues because it is still new, that is why I opted to buy the 467. Regarding its performance of course, it is still mediocre compared to Canon’s flash lineup of 430EX and 530EX but it will get the job done, plus it is 5X cheaper than the 530EX. It is compatible with Canon’s E-TTL, has 24mm-80mm distance in manual mode and can be triggered by a flash using the S1 and S2 mode.

I’m so happy of the gift and I did not also think that Maffie can pull-off this kind of surprise. I took a picture of it together with its family. Maffie also named all of my camera stuffs. They are Nonnie(Canon Rebel XS), Zoomie (18-55mm), Primee (50mm 1.8), Telee (70-300mm), Louie (LowePro Bag), Jumbo (LowePro Laptop & Camera Bag), Gripie (Camera Grip) and now Maddie (Speedlight).

Welcome to the family Maddie!

My Personal Shabucks Coffee

Freshly brewed at the sunrise
Her aroma wakes me up in the morning
When I take a sip at the lip of her lid
It fills my heart of its constant need

Her warmth that is serve on every cup
Feels like a hug of her unconditional love
There can be different flavors that can be blend on her
Difficult to comprehend even for a painter

Nonetheless you make me think twice
I want you more like you are my vice
I am Crazy all day having a cupful of you
To have your coffee outlets is what I want to do

Oh I thank Thee for the bottomless cup
A blessing from you Oh Above
Oh I thank Thee for the Coffee you’ve entrusted my hand
I promise to love her as long as I stand.

Like me at Digiprint's Facebook contest.

I recently joined a photo contest of Digiprint. Their theme is "SERENETIY: Our chapels and Churches". I was looking at my old photos finding if I did capture a good church that corresponds with the theme. Lucky enough I did not found one. hehehe :).

The past week was the celebration of the Holy Week, and if you are in a country that says it is the only Christian country in South East Asia, I believe you will have an ample of opportunity to find that serenity.

So here is the picture, I took this when we were in Tagaytay while having the anticipated mass for the "pasalubong". I called it "Ang Ilaw at ang Kanyang mga Simbahan", trans: "The Light and His Churches"

I hope you like this one and help me garner likes. Like me at digiprint's facebook wall.

To top it off

Last Saturday was a blast. I went with maffie to attend a baptism, then went to Tender Bob's at the Shangrila mall and then went to play basketball. Eating this dessert was the climax of the day. It made me realize that what we spent at this mall was very special. A special treat for maffie, a special time for the both of us and lastly a special basketball win for our team to top it off.

My ticket to Pacquiao vs Clottey

Rarely I miss a Pacquiao fight and last night I went to the nearest cinema to buy a ticket. Maffie and I asked if there were still tickets available and they said "Sorry we are already sold out!". Walking away from the ticket booth sad, I was already thinking if my buddy old pal doggy has still tickets reserved in Lipa, also thinking that I can have a good breakfast at their lomi house. Maffie seeing me disapointed read the pacquiao ads outside the cinema. She told me that one of the ads says that if I buy 500 pesos worth of P&G products and with those products I have a 200ml of Head and Shoulders shampoo/conditioner I can get a free ticket. "WTF! That's a freakin' good deal!", so we rushed to the mall's supermarket and asked the customer service if they still have tickets and woopee! They still have tickets! Seldom do I get good deals when buying stuff and this one can be the most memorable. I hope we get a good treat this coming Sunday! Go get Clottey Pacman!

MOA Pyrolympics 2010: liebefunktioniert

It was my second time to take pictures of fireworks (my first time was not a successful one :D). I went to SM Mall of Asia to watch this year's pyrolympics. There were a lot of people at the mall waiting for the event that the sky will light up and I was there waiting to get the chance to apply what sir Robert told me on how to capture the fireworks. "8 seconds F11", he said and that was the setting I used to capture it. I did not have a great angle to get it but it turned out well and I was able to find a concept for it. I hope you like what I did. =)
